A: Students who are self directed and motivated who are looking for an alternative to a strictly scheduled lecture environment. Students who are seeking the flexibility that an independent course offers with the advantages of some face- to face instruction.
A: You will not be successful in this course if you are lack the discipline to function in a self study setting. Students who are not able to succeed in this type of course are requested to reconsider their choice to challenge the LVN by method 3 since students will need to have the discipline to succeed in taking the NCLEX-VN which would require self study.
A: Although this is an independent study course you do have an opportunity to meet with the instructor one on one. You will meet with instructor at initial enrollment and when you complete the course syllabus to review the material covered and clarify any questions you may have. Final exam is up to the discretion of the instructor, there will not be a final exam provided the course syllabus is completed accurately and completely. Distance learners differ, communication is primarily by e-mail and by phone.
A: Completion of the course is strictly up to the individual student and how much time they are able to devote to mastering the material; many students will be able to complete the course in a few short weeks. It is the expectation that the student will complete the course within six months of enrollment; Student will be dropped from the class if they fail to complete the course within six months of enrollment.
A: Upon receipt of your enrollment form and the required fee, you will be contacted by instructor to set up a mutually convenient time and place to meet.
At the initial meeting you will receive the course syllabus and have the opportunity to clarify any questions you may have about the material, you will be expected to make the final payment at this time. After you complete the material you would contact the instructor to set up another meeting to review the completed syllabus as well as turn in any assignments.
This process differs for out of state students.
There will not be a face to face final examination provided all the assignments are turned in and you have successfully completed the course syllabus which is worth 80%.
If the expectations are not met , the instructor has the option to require a monitored written final exam, Obtaining a certificate for pharmacology theory is dependent on completion of the course syllabus with a passing score of atleast 80%
